About Us

We are a family living in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.

Humans
Frances is the Matron of the family. She bred miniature and toy poodles in her prime and came from a family where dog breeding and performance was a part of daily life. Now, she suffers from dementia and having puppies in the house puts the light in her eyes, so we've decided to pick it up again.

Bonnie spent her childhood in a poodle-breeding home and is over the moon to have poodles in the house again. She is both stubborn and soft-hearted, and makes sure that every animal is equally spoiled with yums and affection.

Jessica grew up around doberman pincers and is terrified of stepping on a poodle due to the size difference. She handles the toenail trims, questionable haircuts, weigh-ins, medication, and anything computer-related such as website maintenance and email.

Canines
Raven was born on December 9th, 2016, and joined us at Easter as a gift from Frances' son, Gordie.
Gordie's grand-kids had already dubbed her Diamond, and we saw that the breeder called her Raven, so we named her Raven Diamond.
We sometimes refer to her as Raven Lunatic because she loves to run and play come get me.
She weighs approximately 15 pounds.

Edgar was born on April 25th, 2017 in New Brunswick and joined us in June of that year.
Because he was chosen as a companion for Raven, we named him after the author of the famous poem, The Raven.
Edgar must be part salmon because he doesn't just wag his tail; he wags his entire body.
His parents were toys but he had one heck of a growth spurt and wound up at about 20 pounds.

Poppy was born on July 1st, 2018 in the first litter of Raven and Edgar.
It was love at first sight.
Out of respect to Frances' late husband, who served in the Navy as a career, we named her for the flower of remembrance.
As luck would have it, Poppy loves to sniff flowers.
Poppy is tall like her father, but quite slender, weighing about 17 pounds.

John was born on October 3rd, 2019 in Ontario. Since he was intended as a companion for Poppy and in keeping with the theme of poem/poet, we named him after the author of the famous memorial poem, In Flanders Fields.
John loves everyone and enjoys making new friends. If he senses a person or animal is irate with him, he attacks the problem with eager snuggles. Edgar doesn't like to snuggle, so it can be a feedback loop of frustrated groans and wagging.
John weighs 13 pounds.
